Koryo Hand Acupuncture

WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF KORYO HAND ACUPUNCTURE?

Here is the first-hand story how this the Koryo Hand acupuncture ( KHT ) was discovered by Tae-Woo Yoo, O.M.D., Ph.D.

“One Autumn night in 1971 I was awakened from sleep by a severe pain in the back of my head. I could not sleep, and of course, I wanted the pain to go away. For some reason, I found myself staring at the back of my middle finger, and it occurred to me that there might a point there to treat the pain. I proceeded to stick my finger with the tip of a ballpoint pen and indeed found a particularly painful area. I then proceed to insert a needle in this sensitive spot, and ” My God!” a headache was gone. The speed and degree of pain relief were overwhelming. I mentally visualized the tip of my finger as possibly representing the head of the human body, and wondered whether there was a relationship of the rest of the hand with the whole of the human body. Further experiments revealed just each a correspondence, and so Koryo Hand Acupuncture was born…

Often during my research, I felt that God was leading me, giving me some kind of wisdom about acupuncture and moxibustion. Actually, I can not help confessing that Korean Hand Acupuncture is a gift, given to me by God, having nearly worked myself to death in its development. Some of the discoveries I have made continue to astonish me and go beyond conventional wisdom about acupuncture and moxibustion…”

WHAT IS KORYO HAND ACUPUNCTURE ABOUT?

Dr. Tae-Woo Yoo views the hands as microcosmos of the human body. The function of the different systems ( organs ) of the human body can be regulated by stimulating their corresponding points on our hands. The theory maintains that if you are in pain or have a problem somewhere in your body, this pain is mapped on the hands which have corresponding tender spots. Therefore, the stimulation of the tender spots positively affects pain relief. There’s 14 micro – meridians and 345 ore, the stimulation of the tender spots positively affect pain relief.

KHT recognizes 14 micro – meridians and 345 acupuncture points on our hands. They can be influenced by using needles ( special ones ), moxibustion, magnets or press pellets.

The ultimate goal of KHT is to regulate the imbalanced body organs into balance function through the regulation of the brain cerebral flow. The balance of the body’s organs is highly dependent on the circulation of blood in the brain. As the brain governs the autonomic nervous system, sympathetic nervous system, and hormones, it controls the activity of all organs. An abnormal function of the brain results in lack of well-being. Therefore, KHT ‘s theory and methods rely upon the balance of the cerebral flow.

Koryo Microneedle Acupuncture is beneficial for disease prevention and health maintenance and treating a wide range of ailments such as:
